Athletics Day
On Friday at the Tauranga Domain to compete in the Poverty bay Athletics tournament. Our school took around 40-60 students, to compete against schools all around the Bay of plenty and some schools from Gisborne as well.
The first race was the 100m sprint which I was competing in. Nearly at the finish line I leaned over the line but I leaned a bit to far over and ended up tripping on my own foot, and skidded and skinning myself over the line. I guess it was worth it I got into the finals, and placed 4th in it.
I also raced in the 200m where I made it into the finals for that aswell. I also came 4th in that final as well. I then had the year 8 mixed relay where my team came 1st there were no finals needed for that.
Our school overall did very well coming 1st for the school placings and some of the kids did really well coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the overall best people.
